Improvent combines two distinct bronchodilators:
Together, they deliver enhanced bronchodilation via complementary mechanisms. The inhaler uses an eco-friendly HFA propellant, avoiding ozone-depleting CFCs.
Adults (including the elderly):
2 puffs up to 4 times daily. Additional puffs may be taken as needed, but not exceeding 12 puffs in 24 hours.
Proper inhaler technique is essential for optimal drug delivery. Always shake the canister before use. Inhale slowly and deeply while pressing the canister, and hold your breath for 10 seconds.
Cleaning:
Clean the mouthpiece at least weekly. Remove the canister before rinsing the plastic actuator in warm water. Dry thoroughly before reuse.
Due to Salbutamol: Tremors, headache, rarely muscle cramps, bronchospasm, or hypersensitivity.
Due to Ipratropium: Headache, cough, dry mouth, nausea, chest discomfort, or sinusitis (infrequent).
Other anticholinergics or sympathomimetics
MAO inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants, or non-potassium-sparing diuretics
May enhance cardiovascular side effects.
Known hypersensitivity to soya lecithin, peanut, or soybean
Allergic to atropine or other formulation components
Salbutamol (Pregnancy Category C): Use only if potential benefits justify risks.
Ipratropium (Category B): No known teratogenicity.
Caution is advised during lactation due to unknown excretion in breast milk.
Glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia, or urinary retention
Conditions like seizures, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or those hypersensitive to adrenergics
Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat or sunlight. Do not puncture or incinerate the canister. Keep out of reach of children and avoid contact with the eyes.
